September – December 2013

Ah the Autumn lull, a time for us to plan, potter and re-charge the creative batteries.

We are setting up our new project: an Unusual Reading Club for graduates and soon to be graduates culminating in a production of Twelfth Night and a mini tour. More soon…

You can read more about our Lighthouse Poole residency with Memory Points on Craig’s blog along with seeing some eerie photos of the ROUTE. Click Here.

Plans carry on for the show at Brighton Dome, we have been wandering the corridors of the Museums/Galleries and Concert Hall Spaces in the last few weeks. We are planning to make it there next year if all goes well.

Meanwhile Memory Points is set for the South Bank in 2014/15 and we will be wandering around up there soon looking bemused and distracted! Hopefully we can also create something for the summer festival which will feed into the piece when it premieres in London. Memories of the South Bank mix with memories of our own families and grand days out.

Do you know who Joseph Roth was? A wonderful writer who wrote a short story called The Legend of the Holy Drinker in 1939 – a tale of miracles and magic when a vagrant living under a Parisian bridge suddenly develops the knack to attract money! We are researching this in 2014 for touring in 2015.

A tale of redemption and transformation told with our emphasis on beautifully lit fairytale atmospheres of objects/performers and puppets mixed into dreamy storytelling and sonic worlds.

Funding applications to keep us busy now – remember you can still buy our book (we are very proud of it) just click here.

Happy Autumn/Winter from all the P4 team . xxx

We are also celebrating a little extra support as we are amongst the first arts organisations to be in receipt of funding from the Creative Employment Programme, run by the National Skills Council this has allowed us to offer a 6 month paid internship. Our intern will work on the Memory Points Tour, our Hamlet New Tempest Club Production in May and June 2013 and create their own live event in Autumn 2013. We are delighted to announce that our new Intern is recent University of Winchester graduate, Craig Chalmers! Welcome Craig.

New Tempest Club have just premiered their wonderfully atmospheric version of Hamlet with a lovely group of recently graduated students. See Craig’s blog for more info.

Memory Points is slowly being assembled, and produced for Lighthouse: Poole’s Centre for the Arts …so much arrangementing for such a special piece of work but its worth it!

We are no thinking of the future with research and development plans for Joseph Roth’s the Legend of the Holy Drinker.

Su and Cath have just finished flower making in Colten Care’s The Aldbury Care Home where our flower garlands will be incorporated into Poole’s Memory Points Show.
